The new album “Summer Of Better Times” will be on Universal Music’s legendary jazz label Verve Forecast. Release is scheduled for end of October, 2009.

After mastering my new album at Metropolis Studios in London, I’m working on the finals for the cover. It’s taking shape. Before I will get ready for the release I need some serious sea and sun treatment. Approaching the look in the header pic. See you in August…

While waiting 3 hours for a delayed aircraft at Zurich Airport, I studied every glossy magazine around and there were many. In the third hour I learned, that all my accessories and gadgets are shabby and out of fashion, but then there was this poll, that cheered me up. “Remorse” from the album Soul and Echo was voted for Most Elegant Ringtone ! It was tested on an iPhone, but the article didn’t say if the cell phone was placed in the pocket of a Jil Sander suit or in the latest Gucci bag, which would make a big difference of course (sound wise). However, if you are the elegant type, live in the United States and have a cell phone…what are you waiting for ? Kurt Maloo – Remorse

New York City based jazz quartet Project Grand Slam has released a cover version of “The Captain Of Her Heart”, feat. Judie Tzuke. The voice of Judie Tzuke you might know from Morcheeba’s “Enjoy the Ride” and I think here again it fits perfectly.
The song just got to #37 on the American Adult Contemporary Charts and we’ll keep our fingers crossed over here…
